Montauk Point Lighthouse
The Montauk Point Lighthouse is the oldest that you can find in New York. It is authorized by the Second Congress under the previous leadership of President George Washington way back in 1792. Its construction started way back in 1796 and it was finally completed on the same year too after about five months. This serves as a historical landmark that is part of the land and sea backdrop of the Long Island for more than two centuries now. It is still being used up to this day as a guide for those navigating at sea.
It is also a favorite venue for events like weddings and many more. On a yearly basis, group tours of travelers and students are made available in the place and also to get to see the Montauk Lighthouse Museum. You can contact them to make reservations ahead of time if you plan to visit the lighthouse.
